About our Pastor . . .
Howard Conine was born in Valdosta, Ga. and grew up in the small south Georgia town of Uvalda. He was reared by his mother and grandparents after the death of his father when he was 10 months old. At an early age, he responded to the call of God and enrolled in Lee College at Cleveland, Tennessee, to study for the ministry. Upon completion of his studies, he became a full time pastor in the state of Wisconsin.
After five years of pastoral and evangelistic work, he was called to the mission field, where he and his family spent the next five years. While in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Haiti, he served as overseer of more than 400 churches and pastors, and was President of Central American Bible Institute. He was responsible for the building of numerous churches. After returning to the States, he resumed full time pastoral work. He is currently ordained by the Open Bible Standard Churches headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa.
His visions and dreams of a church where people of all races and backgrounds could come together in worship and fellowship was fulfilled with the establishment of New Covenant Worship Center.
He is married to the former Virginia Weldon, who shares his vision and his special love for others. He has three daughters, one son, and nine grandchildren.
